He worked at Armed Forces Radio Service during World War II, spent 18 years at WKMH (later WKNR) in Dearborn/Detroit and hosted the weekday afternoon Swingin' Time dance program on CKLW-Channel 9. His autobiography, The DJ Who Launched 1,000 Hits, was published in 2019.
